Current projects include:

  1. Measurement of fluid thermal conductivity with infinitesimal samples using a MEMS sensor.
  2. Noninvasive measurement of thermal transport properties of biological materials.
  3. Measurement of thermal transport properties of solids and soft materials.
  4. Experimental and theoretical modeling of freezing during cryosurgery.
  5. Mechanism of cell injury during freezing.
  6. Osmotic response and injury of cells.
  7. Mechanical response of bone cells subjected to repetitive loading.
  8. Effect of vibration on bone mass and morphology.

Projects in suspension include:

  1. In-situ harvesting of cultured cells under a microscope.
  2. Nondestructive examination of frozen state by electric impedance measurement.
  3. Biomechanics of cell lysis by deformation.
