RCM

Rotary Engine (Wankel Engine) has a triangle rotor by which the compression, combustion and expansion processes are reazlied. Compared to the reciprocating piston engine, it has simpler structure and makes low vibration sound. However, the combustion chamber and internal flow have a unique structure, so that the ignition process is different from that of reciprocating piston engine. Our laboratory is proposing to achieve stable ignition by introducing GPFJ (Gasoline Pulsed Flame Jet). With RCM (Rapid Compression Machine), the flow field in the rotary engine is realized and the ignition process is being investigated.
