ABOUT TPL

In Thermofluid Physics Lab (TPL), heat transfer at the atomic and electronic scales is investigated to break through the conventional heat transfer performance limitations. MEMS technology and high-speed infrared cameras are used to validate the proposed heat transfer model. We also employ theoretical approaches that incorporate concepts from applied physics, such as phonons and photons, to understand heat transfer phenomena. The intention is to apply the results of the research mentioned above to a wide range of engineering applications, including the efficient utilization of solar thermal energy and the enhancement of thermoelectric semiconductors. Additionally, we are developing a database for the thermodynamic and thermophysical properties of hydrogen at high pressures to realize a hydrogen energy society.
