Effect of Surface Wettability and Structure on Liquid-Vapor Phase Change

Objective: To control the cooling rate of steel plate

Cooling process of steel plate -- it is important to control the cooling rate and cool uniformly
Conventional technologies -- control the condition of cooling water (e.g., density of water)
Our study -- controls surface properties of substances to be cooled (wettability, roughness)

Accurate control is possible by combining present study with conventional technologies
